Global footing experts Martin Collins recently installed their premier CLOPF® sport horse footing in a brand new 140’ X 190’ outdoor ring at the Aiken Horse Park. Nestled in the heart of Aiken’s historic district, Bruce’s Field at the Aiken Horse Park offers an unparalleled experience of premier equestrian facilities with the comfort and charm of an iconic Southern town. Sitting upon 66 acres of grass fields, the Horse Park enjoys an open and spacious atmosphere, with plenty of room inviting horses and riders to stretch their legs outside of the rings.
“We’d like to thank Martin Collins USA for helping the Aiken Horse Park Foundation buy a world class product while working within our budget,” said Tara Bostwick, Executive Director Aiken Horse Park. “They also introduced us to one of their approved contractors, Austin Wood of Diamond W Contracting. Austin took the mystery and stress out of building a new arena.”
CLOPF® footing is a cost effective, long lasting, original performance fiber from Martin Collins. Available as a stand alone product, CLOPF® fiber can be used in a new sand installation or to significantly enhance an existing sand or sand/mix footing, without incurring the expense of an all new product. The proprietary blend of fibers assists in giving more stability via a ‘root structure’ within the sand particles. With the correct maintenance the horses will work more “on the top” of the footing, rather than “into it”. This in turn provides cushioning and energy return to the limbs of the horse.
“We are delighted that our CLOPF® fiber was the chosen footing for the new arena at Aiken Horse Park, and we will be proud to work with them during this busy show season,” said Glynnie Walford, CEO of Martin Collins USA. “This is an important installation for Martin Collins Equine Surfaces in South Carolina and for our approved contractor Austin Wood of Diamond W Contracting.”
