Sunday was a day filled with fun competition and comradery as the special classes began for a Mother’s Day in the sun at the Sonoma Horse Park.
Carol Wright and Zandor excelled taking home the win in the $2,000 Equine Omega Complete 1.30m Jumper Classic. The competition was closely contended with Jill Humphrey and Cesar a split second behind the leaders with Kristin Hardin and Mr C right behind them in third. The second $2,000 Equine Omega Complete Junior/Amater Owner 1.30m class was awarded to Lindsey Johnson and Fanta.

Earlier in the morning, the $1,500 Devoucoux Children/Adult Amateur Classic 1.10m class brought 41 riders into the Wells Fargo Arena. Lydia Carrol and K7 pushed the pedal a bit harder than the rest to bring home the blue. The following class, the $1,500 Bay Club Junior/Amateur Modified 1.20m Jumper classic went home with Clea Caddell and Waltraut.
Last but not least, the $500 Charleigh’s Cookies Low Children/Adult Amateur 1.0m Classic. Natalie Gerst and Royal Doulton took home the win.
The Sunday hunter classes did not disappoint, beautiful courses brought out the best in all of the horse and rider combination taking part. The $1,000 Barnstyle Junior/Amateur Owner 3’3-3’6 Hunter Classic was a large class, with Naomi Rubin and Bunistar taking home the win.

Avery Kalafatas and Calendar Girl rode to a win in the $1,000 Ivivva Children’s Hunter Classic, which took place in the DC Builders Arena. The adults also had their own challenge to face in the $1,000 Equitex Adult Amateur Hunter Classic. Sonja Petri and Drop The Mic won the class against a very competitive field.
And when you think the ribbons cannot be any more spectacular, the awards were presented for the $500 Patrick Seaton Stables Pony Hunter Classic. Alexa Leong and Candy Crush placed first in the class and they are the first of the season to take the lovely blue and yellow works of art that are the ribbons for this class. The rest of the class did not miss out either, with Emma Borders and Be Cool placing second and Rachel Rosenblum and Sam I Am in third.
